Magness Adventure Camp 2009

Another Magness Adventure Camp for young Cub Scouts has come and gone. I took Stryder the past few days and we had a fantastic time here. Lots of fun shooting BB guns, Bows & Arrows, as well as some cool tomahawks.

With so many mechanical issues with the bus and suburban it really cut into our trips planned this summer. We were fortunate to be able to visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park . Here are a few photos from that trip.

Yet another pulled head stud in the bus

As preparations began for our camping trip Monday I found that one head stud was loose. An attempt to torque it in the bus resulted in another pulled head stud. That makes 5 in this case. I’m quite frustrated and unsure of what the deal is with this case. Every case insert I have repaired has remained solid, but this is getting quite old. Next stop VW shop.
Boys Fishing Day

We woke up early this morning to head to the South Platte River for some fishing. We had a great time, and the boys worked on their casting, unfortunately with the heat not much was biting, and the river flow was pretty high. I managed to hook one decent sized brown trout, but it got off the hook just before I netted him. Great day anyway.
Suburban nearly fixed

I go to pick up that one odd expensive part from Chevy today. After that just a few more hoses and it’s cross your finger time. I’m hoping this new radiator and water pump will help to fix the over heating it’s been plagued with for years. Time will tell, but unfortunately it’s taken too long.

Well it looks like the Sub had popped a radiator. I have it all ordered up, but it will cut into travel next week

We went to Jose O’sheas for dinner with some old friends from school. What a fantastic time. I recommend the place ad it’s pretty good food. Besides where elce cam you get a buffalo fajita.
Vegas was fun.
