Wyatt’s home from Boy Scout camp
by Steph on Jul.04, 2009, under Laster Family, Scouting
Wyatt made it home today about lunch time from a week long stay at Peacefull Valley Boy Scout camp. Jason and I wondered if we would get a 3 sentence explanation on how is week went. Well we were wrong. He couldn’t stop talking about it. He had a fantastic time. He earned 3 merit badges, and began working on a fourth. The fourth one will take him a few months to complete the requirements. Last night Stryder, Chloe, Olivia and I were able to go out to the camp for the Family Campfire Program. ( Jason had to work) Since Wyatt didn’t attend last summer we didn’t know what to expect. They fed us dinner, had a closing flag ceremony, and then the campfire program where the Scouts sang, and preformed skits. It was so fun. Wyatt was in a skit that was by far the funniest! (Thanks to Wyatt. He is such a clown) He definately wants to attend next year. That is always a good sign that he had a good time. I took a few pictures. Olivia sat with Wyatt and his Scout buddies during the campfire program, and she loved it!
Chloe’s Brownie Troop goes to Build-A-Bear
by Steph on Mar.14, 2009, under Scouting
With the money that they raised selling cookies, Chloe’s troop choose to go to Build-A-Bear Workshop as their fun activity. This was an experience to say the least. I have never been there with a large group of girls. (There are 14 in her Troop) Let alone all the walk-ins that were there. That place is NUTS!!! Not quit as bad as Chuck E Cheese, but a very close second! Here are a few pictures.
Pack 649 Campout
by fasterlaster on Sep.19, 2008, under Scouting
The Fall Campout for the Pack went well and we had a great time. Unlike last year’s spring campout the weather was fantastic. It was the first time we had ever been to Cherry Creek State Park and we had a fantastic time there. The camping facilities are great, and the only downside being it’s right in the middle of Denver so light pollution and noise is a bit more than other parks. Photos here

Camping in Vedauwoo, WY
by fasterlaster on May.25, 2008, under Scouting, Travel
Troop 88 offered a family camp/climbing excursion to Vedauwoo, WY this weekend, so we jumped at the chance to do a camping shakedown before the season really got going. We all had a fantastic time and got a chance to relax for a weekend. As a family camp Wyatt was patrol leader for his family who formed a patrol. I’m sure it was tough making the calls and telling his siblings what to do, but he did just fine. Anyway some photos from the trip can be found below.
Scout ‘Smiles-a-lot’ earns his Arrow of Light
by fasterlaster on Jan.25, 2008, under Scouting
Wyatt was awarded his Arrow of Light Award tonight, by the fantastic fur trapper J.C. Bear. The ceremony was fantastic keeping the attention of all in the crowd for the entire time. Both of us are very proud of Wyatt’s accomplishment. He also earned the name ‘Smiles-a-lot’ by Bear who noticed that he couldn’t keep the smile off his face. Wyatt was also called by his Webelos brothers to take the “Test” for their den to progress. At the end of the ceremony Wyatt and Ian were greeted by members of Troop 88 their new home, and Ethan was greeted with new friends from Troop 469. Some of the photos can be found at the link below.

by fasterlaster on Jan.16, 2008, under Scouting
It’s hard to believe, but Wyatt will be crossing over to a Boy Scout Troop next week. Seems like just yesterday he was starting out as a Wolf. But here he is ready to move one.
Denver University Hockey Game
by fasterlaster on Nov.17, 2007, under Scouting
DU hosts a night every year where they offer seats to a home hockey game for a reasonable price for local scouts and the coach takes a few minutes before the game to speak to all the boys. He spoke about staying in school and working hard, was a nice speaker. After that we all got some junk food and settled in to watch DU really beat the visiting team Minn. State.
